Liuyang Launches 2017 "Prosthetic and Disabled" Project

Plan to equip 40 impoverished disabled people with missing limbs with prosthetic limbs

Liuyang Daily News (Reporter Tang Jiao) In order to meet the basic rehabilitation needs of disabled people and allow poor disabled people with missing limbs to assemble prostheses for free and better participate in social life, the Liuyang City Disabled Persons' Federation and Liuyang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Prosthetics and Orthopedics Center (China Yangtze New Mile Liuyang Prosthetic Limbs Base Station) jointly implemented the 2017 "Prostheses to Assist the Disabled" project, which will provide free prosthetic limbs for 40 poor disabled people with missing limbs in the city.

It is reported that the "Prosthetic Limbs to Assist the Disabled" project is aimed at disabled people with missing limbs who have permanent household registration in the administrative area of Liuyang City, whose families are poor, who have been identified as meeting the conditions for prosthetic fitting, and who have not received prosthetic fitting assistance in the past three years. Disabled people with missing limbs can apply at the Prosthetic and Orthopedic Center of Liuyang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. The application deadline is August 11.

Applicants need to fill out the "Changsha Precision Rehabilitation Services Application Approval Form for Disabled Persons", and submit it to the Municipal Disabled Persons' Federation for review after the community (village) and town (street) sign and seal it. Prosthetic limb fitting subjects can go to the Prosthetic Orthopedic Center of the Municipal Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital for prosthetic limb mold taking, installation, and training.
