Hello everyone, I am the stationmaster of 51 prosthetic states. First of all, I would like to express my thanks to the friends who have continuously followed 51 Artificial Limb State's WeChat official account and official website. Time will soon pass in 2019. It has been a long time since 51 Artificial Limb Bang updated its original articles in 2019. I apologize to everyone.. Let me report to you. We haven't updated our article yet, but we haven't forgotten about it. We have been thinking about how to better serve you and have done a lot of online search and field research work. In the coming months, 51 prosthetic states will meet with everyone in a more unique way, truly helping everyone solve the problems of wearing prosthetics and rehabilitation of residual limbs.
1. Who installed the prosthetic? 2, How are prosthetics installed? 3, Is the price determining the best prosthetic to install? 4, Who decides whether the prosthetic is comfortable to wear? When installing prosthetics, everyone must understand these questions
1. Who installed the prosthetic? The installation of prostheses can be done by prosthetic companies, disability federation prosthetic assembly stations, or rehabilitation centers. It should be understood that these units that provide prosthetic installation sites are not manufacturers of prosthetics. Their function is to sell prosthetic products and assembly services to you, and prosthetics are not produced by them (it is not ruled out that there may be very few that are self produced or OEM). The prosthetic components are already finished products before installation and are not personalized. For example, when installing air conditioning at home, the manufacturer who installed it for you is not the manufacturer. Once again, it should be emphasized that a prosthetic company is not a prosthetic manufacturer, but rather a prosthetic assembly service company. So here I want to speak up for the prosthetic assembly service company.. If there is a problem with your prosthetic, not all responsibility may lie with the prosthetic company. Exclude issues with the prosthetic socket (as explained in detail below), rule out human damage caused by the prosthetic company during the assembly process, and exclude human tampering. The prosthetic cannot be worn due to quality issues. We need to consider whether we can wear prosthetics ourselves. If there are quality issues with prosthetics, we need to contact the manufacturer.
2, How are prosthetics installed? I often say a sentence, who knows about prosthetics unless they are amputees. So the prosthetic knowledge we acquire is initially passively received, with different people telling you about different brands, functions, and concepts. To be honest, you are in a state of confusion and don't know which one suits you. So I have no idea what prosthetic limbs are or how to install them. I once chatted with a patient and he asked me if surgery was required to install a prosthetic. He believed that installing a prosthetic requires a knife. Not bad, there are indeed people abroad who implant prosthetic joints into bones. However, due to current technological limitations, there are still many issues with installing prosthetics in this way.
Original text:Animated demonstration of the installation process of implantable prostheses, which is painful to watchThe installation of prostheses is not that complicated. Choose the appropriate prosthetic components for your body and assemble them like building blocks.. For example, for thigh prostheses: prosthetic foot+ankle joint+connecting components+knee joint+receiving cavity
In this way, the thigh prosthesis is assembled without the need for surgery3. The price determines whether the prosthesis installed is the best? Everyone says when buying things, 'You get what you pay for.'. That's right, good goods must have good prices, and good things are definitely not cheap. In the practical process of installing prosthetics, the most expensive ones may not be suitable for everyone, and the cheapest ones may not necessarily be bad. For example, in 2011 in Jianchang, Huludao, Liaoning, I met a patient in his forties who had a right calf amputation. He installed a 4500 yuan stainless steel calf prosthesis and then went to work at a brick factory, where he also used it well. In the same year, I met a 73 year old retired cadre in Chengde, Hebei who spent 50000 yuan to install a knee joint. Due to his advanced age and weak body, he still needed a cane to assist him in walking safely, and he stopped wearing it after a while. Through the above two examples, I just want to tell everyone that when choosing a prosthetic, you need to consider your own situation:
For example, choosing a prosthetic according to your needs, such as economy, physical fitness, age, etc., is also very suitable for you, and you may not necessarily choose the most expensive one. 4, Who decides whether the prosthetic is comfortable to wear? The quality of a prosthetic is not only determined by its price, the more expensive the prosthetic, the more comfortable it is to wear. I don't want to wear a prosthetic with a cost of one million yuan even after wearing it for a few days if the receiving cavity is not suitable. Why? Wearing the acceptance chamber is uncomfortable, and the remaining limbs cannot bear it. Therefore, comfortable wearing of prostheses is the key. The receiving cavity is tailor-made by prosthetic technicians for customers, and the level of craftsmanship of the technicians will determine the patient's experience of wearing prosthetics. So, looking back at the prosthetic installation process mentioned above, we will find that this key figure did not appear during the installation of the prosthetic. When you have paid and are making a wheelchair mold, the person wearing a white coat will appear in front of you.
The actual process of installing a prosthetic should first select the appropriate joint based on one's own situation and choose skilled technicians to install the prosthetic. So I want to emphasize here that the prosthetic technician is the most important part of the entire prosthetic installation process. If someone has already installed a prosthetic, they must have a deep understanding of this issue. For those who have not yet installed a prosthetic, it is recommended to read this article carefully. At the beginning of the article, I mentioned that in the coming months, 51 Artificial Limb Bang will meet everyone in a more unique way.
