Introduction to the profession and events of prosthetic assembly workers
A prosthetic assembly worker is a production and assembly personnel who uses principles and methods of ergonomics to perform residual limb function examination, assessment, and compensation for missing functions.
After receiving an order, the prosthetic assembly worker needs to measure and shape the prosthetic according to the user's amputation site, shape and size of the residual limb, and personal conditions. They also need to create a receiving cavity (a component that connects the residual limb and the prosthetic), connect the receiving cavity with other prosthetic components, and assemble the prosthetic according to specific alignment requirements. Finally, they help the user try on and adjust the prosthetic to achieve the best comfort and functionality. The process flow of prosthetic assembly workers mainly includes measurement, shaping, repairing, forming, line assembly, fitting and debugging, finished product processing, and delivery for use. There are five levels of vocational skills for prosthetic assembly workers: Level 5/Junior Worker, Level 4/Intermediate Worker, Level 3/Senior Worker, Level 2/Technician, and Level 1/Senior Technician. The skill requirements and related knowledge requirements corresponding to each level progressively increase in difficulty and complexity. Engaging in the profession of prosthetic assembly requires learning relevant disciplines such as medicine and engineering, such as human anatomy (with a focus on the nervous system and musculoskeletal system), human kinematics, rehabilitation medicine, mechanical engineering, materials science, as well as specialized knowledge and skills in prosthetic design and assembly, including prosthetic technology standards and practical prosthetic technology. With the development and progress of science and technology, the application of technologies such as 3D scanning, CAD/CAM, and 3D printing has improved the efficiency of prosthetic product production, freeing technicians from the cumbersome and cumbersome manual processes of the past to carry out more precise, efficient, and intelligent design and production. The national civil affairs industry vocational skills competition for prosthetic assembly workers is based on the "National Vocational Skills Standards for prosthetic assembly workers (2019 edition)", and is assessed from two aspects: theoretical knowledge and operational skills. The theoretical knowledge competition mainly assesses the contestants' abilities in independent thinking, comprehensive analysis, humanistic care, psychological counseling, as well as environmental protection concepts and innovative consciousness. The operation skills competition consists of four modules: measurement and type taking, type repairing, line assembly, and trial fitting and debugging. The main objective is to assess the professional ethics, skills, advanced technology, product management, and emergency safety response abilities demonstrated by participants throughout the competition process. The establishment of a prosthetic assembly worker competition aims to build a platform for showcasing skills, exchanging skills, and communicating, showcasing the professional ethics, skill style, and spiritual outlook of prosthetic assembly workers, improving their theoretical knowledge and practical skills, strengthening the construction of the rehabilitation assistive device talent team, meeting the rehabilitation service needs of people with disabilities, promoting the construction of a healthy China, and enhancing people's well-being..
